Warrior Brewing Company 2004-2010
As
well as working as a professional actorJames is also a brewer.
In 2004 he opened a micro brewery near Exeter producing a
range of quality ales. Some of the excellent beers produced
by James are listed below:
Beers
Tomahawk
(4% ABV) - A dry, refreshing bitter, full of flavour,
with a strong, lingering, hoppy taste.
Geronimo
(4.9% ABV) - Full-bodied with a robust and rounded, malty
flavour and a long, bitter-sweet finish.
Crazy
Horse
(5% ABV) - A light , golden beer with a subtle blend of
four different hops, and a clean, dry, distinctive taste.
Custers
Last Stand
Dec-Feb Only (7% ABV) - A rich, dark and tasty ale with
a strong bitter finish.
The
ale quickly became popular in the Exeter area and indeed all
over the country and was selected by CAMRA to be one of the
representative beers of the South West area at The Great British
Beer Festival in Earls Court. The following year James
was very pleased to be asked to be a judge at the competition.
Unfortunately,
as a result of losing the premises and subsequently his home
in Devon, James reluctantly closed the Warrior Brewing Company
and put the equipment up for sale.
The
Warrior brewery equipment has now been bought by the newly
formed cooperative Topsham Brewery, based at the Globe Inn
in Topsham, Devon.
